In the light of synodality, how can we grow as people of dialogue and reconciliation? How can we hear the Word of God speaking to us in the here and now of our everyday lives and live out our Christian calling to live justly and mercifully?
Based on the Sermon on the Mount and particularly the Beatitudes, this course explores ways in which we are called to respond in faith, hope and love to the issues which confront us in today’s uncertain world. Themes will include environmental justice, poverty and war and conflict. Together, we:
- Take time to reflect on our own experiences of life and faith
- Make space to listen to ourselves, to others, to God
- Use Scripture to hear what God is saying to us
- Seek to discern where God is in our world
- Consider how we sustain ourselves and others in work to build God’s Kingdom
- Ask where God is calling us to be and do, individually, in our communities, church, world.
The course is generally delivered over 5-6 monthly one-day (Saturday sessions) with an evening session in between each. Materials for reflection are provided between sessions.
